Cute kids

I just thought I would post a few pictures of the kids. This is when they first got here and saw their little sister. They are both really cute with her. They fight over holding her and feeding her and fight over who gets to throw her diaper away. I am going to enjoy that while it lasts. Cohen just kisses her over and over. I am glad he hasn't seemed jealous or anything like that.

I have a ton of help feeding her. A little too much sometimes. I am hoping the newness will wear off sometime soon. :)
Grandma Great got Cara this cute swing that I wanted so bad (since I got rid of the one i had) She is still so tiny in it. Yesterday I hear Cohen say, "wee baby" and I looked over and he swung her really high and she tipped forward and hit her head on the bar! I kinda wigged out a little. Cohen took off I think he thought he was dead :) He felt really bad and kept kissing her afterward.

HOME!!

We're home! What a happy day! We brought Cara home this morning. She weighs 4lbs 13oz and is 18 1/2 inches long. She is 2 weeks old today. She is such a little doll. I am the happiest mom right now! Caeli and Cohen will be back from Koosharem either tonight or tomorrow morning and then we will all be under one roof! What a great feeling.... The picture above is just after I got to dress her in her very own clothes.
Cara just snoozing on the couch. I figure I better enjoy being able to just let her lay here unprotected until Cohen gets back. Then she will have to be under lock and key to keep her safe. We'll see how he actually does :)
She is so tiny!! You can really tell when you see pictures like this. She is just so cute and sweet! I am one happy person today, in case you can't tell :)

6 days old

Little Miss Cara is being a gold star little girl. She hasn't been needing any gavage feedings at all so she is feeding-tube-free. She got her IV out the other day. That was really great. Her veins were giving the nurses lots of stress. So as of right now the only things on her little body are her monitors. She also got done with her bili lights. She was only borderline jaundice anyway. It is such a good feeling to hold her and not have any cords actually going into her body.
Daddy is trying to wake her up enough to eat. She was having a sleepy night last night and taking a little longer to eat. So we were doing everything we could to get her to eat to avoid that stinking feeding tube. Thank goodness it worked!
I just liked this picture it was like she was saying "get outta here". She has the cutest little skinny fingers. She reminds me a lot of Caeli as a newborn. She has pretty curly hair, more so on top instead of the back. It will be fun to do when it grows. :)
Here you can get a little better idea of how tiny she is. Dad was trying to burp her and she disappeared behind his hand. She is such a cute little girl and really mellow. She is so strong and scoots all over her little bed. She is still in an isolette. We will be moving into the open crib any time. They have it moved into her room and everything. So that will be our next excitement. She could easily go in it now. Her temperature has been steady since she was born so they have just been waiting to get her up to full feeds. So my guess is tonight or tomorrow morning.

Thins are going really well and we are feeling very blessed. I just can't wait to have my little family under the same roof. A lot of you have asked how I am doing... I am awesome! I am not kidding when I say that I am feeling better than I have in months. I had a small moment today when I realized that this is how old Cohen was when I woke up in the trailer with that perforation. Scary day. I woke up today happy that I could see my ankle bone again... :)

Well, they let us start putting clothes on her. Crystal has been very excited about that! And of course Caeli loves it, mostly because its pink. :)
We were pleasantly suprised when she started lifting her head up. She's getting pretty strong already. She has been eating really well, too.
We just heard from the doctor and he is increasing her feedings. All her labs came back good too, and they are taking her off the antibiotics they have been giving her as a precaution.
As you can see they did end up putting a feeding tube in, but they haven't had to use it much, just a couple times when she's been asleep. They had the IV in her hand, but it went bad so they had to move it, which, as you can see, ended up in the side of her head. We hate it when she has to be poked, but hopefully it isn't too long before they move that one. Anyway, both Crystal and Cara are continuing to do great! We are very blessed to be as trouble free as we have been so far. Hopefully that doesn't change!

Cara is such a doll and doing so great. We couldn't ask for more. We are excited she shares a birthday with both her cousin Sidney and Great Grandma T. I am a little sad that this NICU doesn't allow even any siblings under 14 years old in to see the baby. Caeli will be sad, but with any luck it won't be a very long stay. We are learning some interesting differences in the NICU here compared to Provo. Some things better than others. She is so tiny, but doesn't seem that way to us. I knew she would be bigger than Cohen but part of me expected her to be that small. She even has a cute double chin. Cam and I both have commented on how big she seems.
We are so blessed and are continuing to be. Thank you all for so many prayers on our behalf. They have been felt!! Also, thank you so much to our AMAZING family and friends who have helped us to make it to a point where she could be born now (instead of 9 weeks ago when this all started. ) It has been a long road and now she is here and doing fine I am very happy it all over. YEA!!!!

She's here!!!

Cara was born at 10:53 PM on Thursday June 11!!! She is 4lbs 6 oz and almost 18 inches long, and is doing AMAZING! She is breathing perfectly, her oxygen is staying around 99-100. She is just doing perfectly we couldn't ask for more!
We just wanted to let everyone know that all is well and we will post more later!!
