Boring week, random thoughts

We had a pretty boring week around our house. It was nice actually. With the weather turning cold again we spent a lot of time in the house. Caeli came out the other day after being way too quiet wearing my maternity pants. She has been fascinated with them since I got them. I let her wear them around for a minute. She thought she was pretty cool. If she only knew. :)
Cohen has turned into a biter. I am not happy about it and have tried about everything I can think of. I finally decided that "time out" was the thing he hated most so I usually do that. Well the other day while I was in the kitchen he bit Caeli's toe and then walked straight over to the corner, sat down and looked back at me.... hmmm.... maybe time out isn't working. Any good remedies for biters? Anyone?
Pretty much the only way I ever get my makeup on in peace is if I put the kids in the tub and do it while they play. Well, the way our bathroom is set up, the vanity is outside the bathroom. So as I get ready I can't see the kids... anyway, I knew caeli was writing names because she kept asking me how to spell things and she got rather upset when she realized that there is only one A so she can't spell grandma and grandpa's names at the same time. (she remembers how to spell dad's name and grandpa t's names without any help) Next thing I know I hear her say, "I have an idea!" and when I looked this is what she came up with. I know parents always think their kids are smart but I thought it was pretty good for her to come up with a crossword idea so she could spell them both. Kids make life to exciting. I don't know what I would do without them and I am so glad we are getting another one in our home soon.

Also a little side note.... I am now at about 24 weeks depending on which due date you go by. (24 weeks is the one in the middle even though I know exactly how pregnant I am) anyway, The same day we took Cohen home from the hospital another little guy went home. The other baby was born at 24 weeks and was only 12 oz at birth! I believe he is the littlest baby that they had ever had make it at UVRMC.... anyway, I spent a little time talking with his mom (He and Cohen were crib neighbors) and the little man had all sorts of problems, a 24 week baby isn't a good thing. But it is an interesting note that I am now at the point in my pregnancy that miracles can happen. Having spent some time in the NICU I saw quite a few babies at a lot of different stages of development and so it is interesting to remember those babies and think that's about how big/how developed our little girl is (still without a name BTW) We are really being blessed and I am really think we will make it to term. Here's hoping.... :)

Spring Break

For spring break this year we hit the road! We traveled south to get to a little sunshine and we found it! On our way down we stopped in St. George to visit Grandma and Grandpa Hatch. They are being snowbirds down there. The kids were so happy to see them and get out and run. It was their first taste of some warm weather and they were so dirty from playing outside. Grandpa has been fixing this bike down there and Cam and him finished it while we were there and Cam took the kids for a ride. Cohen didn't want to get off very bad.
We were excited to see Erik and Savannah and little miss Avery. We hadn't seen them since Avery and Cohen were little tiny babies so it was really fun. We just went to lunch and took the kids to a really cute park just off the strip in Vegas. The kids had a lot of fun. Caeli was our photographer in the picture above... she's getting pretty good! :)
Cohen and Avery just checking each other out. Cohen needs to learn to be a little less rough. He's used to wrestling with Caeli.
We played tourist a little while we were down there. We took the kids to M&M world, which wasn't near as cool as I remember it. Caeli did pick a little bag of pink M&M's though. It was her highlight there for sure. While we were downtown we also saw the water show at the Bellagio and the lion and the MGM. We also went to Rain Forest Cafe inside the MGM. It was a fun little place. The kids liked all of the animals and there was a really good magician that we were all pretty impressed with.

Some other highlights included a hike to the hot pots down by Lake Mead. That was Caeli's favorite part for sure, she keeps talking about those warm swimming pools. I understand she hiked the whole 3 miles in without any trouble and did pretty well on the way out as well. Cohen and I stayed at Teri and Tyson's house and... well mostly just napped. But played outside a little as well. Tyson lost his wedding ring while he was down there and so he went back the next day to look for it and he FOUND IT!!! I couldn't believe it. I was so happy for him. After running back in there for the second day though he couldn't walk very well. On Friday Tim and Mandy and Steven and Jazmin came down and we took a little shopping trip to Primm. That night we put the kids to bed and they all went bowling. I took it easy and stayed home with the kiddos again. We did hit our favorite... Cheesecake Factory. We rarely go to Vegas without going there. Mostly it was just really fun to go and see and spend time with family. I wish I would have got a few more pictures. It was fun to enjoy some warm weather and just relax a little.

Ultrasound Pictures

We had our second ultrasound on Tuesday and they gave us the CD with the pictures on it. That's a fun new thing for us. We never got the disk before. The ultrasound tech seemed a little more rushed then when we had our last one so I don't think these pictures are quite as good as the last ones, but here are a couple of pictures of our little girl. Unless you are skilled enough to see heart and kidneys, these are about the only ones that you can even tell what they are. It is also our first experience with 3D pictures. They weren't that great either. She wouldn't close her mouth. Cam said she was screaming, "MOM, FEED ME" (don't worry, I have been) :)

I love pictures!!

I just thought that I would post my latest picture outing. I have a lot of fun having pictures taken. This one was a little more stressful then past times. Cohen isn't quite as into it as Caeli is so he wanted to check things out instead of pose. But they turned out ok. I just went to Kiddie Kandids, which isn't my favorite but it is what we had when I wanted it. With such cute subjects though, how can you go wrong. hehe. I was trying to wait to have pictures taken until Cohen had no visible bruises, but the way things are going lately I don't see it happening any time soon. It has been quite a while since he has had a scuff free face and I suppose that is a memory to preserve too.

Daddy's helper

This weekend Cameron had a few days off and so we got a lot accomplished around our house. It was SO nice to have him with a few free days! Cohen is most definately a daddy's boy. He was always in Cam's way but it was so cute, and refreshing to see him doing something besides what Caeli makes him do. (which is dress up like the prince and play barbies) My mom was also able to come up this weekend which was a ton of fun. She even watched the kids for us while we got to go on a date. I think her being here was a huge factor in us getting so much done as well. She played with the kids and we were able to run errands and all sorts of things. Thanks so much mom!!
I found something my picky little eater loves. Cafe Rio, smart kid! He is a huge fan of black beans. It was such a huge mess but he had fun. I think I have been cursed for saying all of the time before I had kids that I would "NEVER have a picky eater. They will eat what is put in front of them or starve" well, he would starve if not for the 2 things he will eat.
Also a fun milestone I have been waiting for. Cohen is now 18 months old. NURSERY!!! I am very excited for a few months of child-free Relief Society before the new baby gets here. Horray!!
