Boring week, random thoughts

We had a pretty boring week around our house. It was nice actually. With the weather turning cold again we spent a lot of time in the house. Caeli came out the other day after being way too quiet wearing my maternity pants. She has been fascinated with them since I got them. I let her wear them around for a minute. She thought she was pretty cool. If she only knew. :)
Cohen has turned into a biter. I am not happy about it and have tried about everything I can think of. I finally decided that "time out" was the thing he hated most so I usually do that. Well the other day while I was in the kitchen he bit Caeli's toe and then walked straight over to the corner, sat down and looked back at me.... hmmm.... maybe time out isn't working. Any good remedies for biters? Anyone?
Pretty much the only way I ever get my makeup on in peace is if I put the kids in the tub and do it while they play. Well, the way our bathroom is set up, the vanity is outside the bathroom. So as I get ready I can't see the kids... anyway, I knew caeli was writing names because she kept asking me how to spell things and she got rather upset when she realized that there is only one A so she can't spell grandma and grandpa's names at the same time. (she remembers how to spell dad's name and grandpa t's names without any help) Next thing I know I hear her say, "I have an idea!" and when I looked this is what she came up with. I know parents always think their kids are smart but I thought it was pretty good for her to come up with a crossword idea so she could spell them both. Kids make life to exciting. I don't know what I would do without them and I am so glad we are getting another one in our home soon.

Also a little side note.... I am now at about 24 weeks depending on which due date you go by. (24 weeks is the one in the middle even though I know exactly how pregnant I am) anyway, The same day we took Cohen home from the hospital another little guy went home. The other baby was born at 24 weeks and was only 12 oz at birth! I believe he is the littlest baby that they had ever had make it at UVRMC.... anyway, I spent a little time talking with his mom (He and Cohen were crib neighbors) and the little man had all sorts of problems, a 24 week baby isn't a good thing. But it is an interesting note that I am now at the point in my pregnancy that miracles can happen. Having spent some time in the NICU I saw quite a few babies at a lot of different stages of development and so it is interesting to remember those babies and think that's about how big/how developed our little girl is (still without a name BTW) We are really being blessed and I am really think we will make it to term. Here's hoping.... :)

Our friends Brad and Jenny had their baby at 24 months just a month before Allayna was born (at Utah Valley Regional as well) and he was actually only 11 oz. He also had a ton of health problems and had many operatoins, including heart and eye surgeries. Well, today he is doing great. He has to wear glasses already, and is still very small for his age, but doing great. I was shocked when I saw how small he was when just a few days old.

She is very clever to think of spelling it that way! Smart girl! And she looks awesome in the maternity pants! :-)

Sorry, no advice for the biting problem. That's no fun!

That's amazing that babies can survive at 24 weeks! Wow! Hopefully none of us ever has to experience that situation first hand! Yikes!

Wow, that's just insane Jeff. I remember you talking about him but I couldn't remember how little he was. It's crazy to think about....

I always say I have the smartest grandkids! Caeli was very clever in her spelling, and that was pretty smart of Cohen to anticipate you in your discipline as well. Cute! I wonder if Chris and Sarah still have problems with Brynlie biting? I haven't noticed any "incidents" lately.
